2016 DDCF GALA ARTISTS

Ferenc Fehér  (dancer – choreographer) Ferenc Fehér is an experienced and successful dancer-choreographer, an autodidact who has performed with the Finita la Commedia group through the years. His style is a unique and expressive combination of freestyle dance, physical dance and animal movements. Ferenc's dance is the result of constantly improving and perfecting his repertoire of unique moves, and he has been making and performing his own choreographies all over the world since 2007. Genre: animal movements, dance and movement theater, contemporary dance, physical dance

FERENC FEHER - Hungary

As a Leader of Reed Dance Project Group, I have choreographed 7 pieces since 2010. In 2014, I was awarded the Grand-prix ‘Solo and Duet category’ at Seoul International Choreography Festival for the choreography of performance “Interaction” and GYALF Prize at Goyang Lake Festival for another choreography. In 2013, I received the Post Art Prize at Changmu International Dance Festival and Dance Collection Choreography Prize at Seoul International Performing in the preceding year.

ARTLAB J DANCE is a Detroit-based Contemporary Modern dance company under artistic director and ARTLAB J founder, Joori Jung. ARTLAB J Dance is about exploring humanity's fundamental nature with honesty by observing the change of movement through the performance in pure state of mind. Moreover, through dance, ARTLAB J searches for the diversity of individuals and what one desires to achieve. Overall, they like to see the growth and development of human natureand perform the process in theirwork and theystrives to find the positives of our society’s behavior and emotion.

WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company A pioneer of “Hallyu (한류): Korean Wave”, Young Soon Kim, an internationally acclaimed choreographer whose work has been hailed for its exhilarating, visually stunning, and emotionally rich. Formed in 1988, WHITE WAVE Young Soon Kim Dance Company strives to inspire audiences through multi-dimensional dance productions reflecting themes and philosophies both modern and timeless.    With "iyouuswe”, (reads as “I-You-Us-We”), Young Soon Kim and her multifaceted team are creating a visually provocative, intimate piece that will challenge us to examine who we are, and how we relate to ourselves, and each other. It's a story about developing meaningful relationships in which we struggle to seek a sense of ‘i’ as part of a ‘we’.
